Satiety Bites A Recipe To End Cravings

Satiety bites recipe provide relief from hunger. What’s a Satiety Bite?   Read this.

Full disclosure. I named this snack Satiety Bite because a friend of mine was doing good on his diet but slipping in the evenings. The cravings were winning the battle and chips were the weapon of choice. So I searched the dosage for good tasting snacks like energy balls and fat bombs. I combined the tastiest ingredients containing fats and proteins, which provide the most satiety nutrition definition to stave off cravings and kick hunger to the curb.

I called this treat satiety bites for a reason. My friend needed a way to level the field and get through the last couple of hours before bedtime. Small snacks with slow releasing sugars can also be used at bedtime. During sleep, if our blood glucose levels drop too low, restless sleep can be the result.

Satiety is the term for when your brain communicates with your gut by transmitting hormones and chemicals that determine the need to eat and stimulate hunger. If you are in a state of satiety no hunger signals will develop. It is usually psycho-social influences that cause in between meal snacks. So by making this healthy bite, your snack of choice, you get the best of both worlds, a psychosocial reward while you prolong the advent of hunger. When we use our environment and social norms to make our decisions of when and how much to eat, that is a psychosocial decision which makes people confuse and increase satisfaction by circumstance. Like if you were too busy to eat lunch and you have a big dinner to make it up.

How This Recipe Works (the science)

Fats and proteins are recognized by the stomach, most filling foods to prevent hunger, liver and GI tract. Certain foods elicit responses that can be interpreted by the brain as a red light for turning on hunger. These responses come in the form of hormone secretion or nerve stimulation in reaction to certain foods. The brain reads these signals and determines the response. The satiety of a meal determines the length of time between feelings of hunger. A small bite of the right food, strategically placed between meals, or before going to bed, can prolong the time span. If you can’t get the chips, cookies, and crackers out of the house maybe you can get them off your mind by savoring a tasty treat that you know is a better choice.

Satiation is different from satiety. Satiation is how full you feel while you are eating. Satiety is a measure of the signals your brain receives from the food in your body. Satiation often is delayed and we eat too much before our brain tells us to stop eating.

Cut your bites into one-inch squares. Plan for the best time to eat them when you think they will help the most. Don’t take the whole container of the lazy boy. Give it time to have an effect on your body. After 20 to 30 minutes your mind will be off of food and on to bigger and better things. When I am looking for to feel full and get to the next meal, I always stop at one. In other words, this is a tool to be used in accordance with diet and weight loss.
